3 Key Pieces for Your Summer Wardrobe

It's the first week of July if you hadn't noticed and therefore I am happy to say we have slipped into normal summer weather. Here in LA we had a few weeks of on and off heat waves where all you wanted to do was live in your birthday suit because anything more than that was just torture but I'm happy to report we are back to tolerable warm weather. I thought it would be the perfect time to share my 3 key pieces for summer 2016.

Off The Shoulder Obsession

If you know me you know I have been into off the shoulder everything since I can remember but this summer the off the shoulder trend has taken my wardrobe to a whole new level. To say I'm obsessed is an understatement!! I remember not too long ago I would struggle to find any off the shoulder pieces worth adding to my collection so I turned to the next best thing which was making my regular tops into off the shoulder creations by stretching them out and sometimes ripping them slightly to fit around my shoulders. I know, it was a little tacky but it quenched my thirst for OTS (off the shoulder) tops!!

In search of an OTS top I found a few gems while browsing through BooHoo's website and I decided to take the plunge and order something from a website I'd never ordered from before. It paid off big time because I found this beautiful blue plaid top with a stiff collar that embodied everything I'm currently lusting over. I love how long and flowy it is and the collar around the shoulder's is a modern twist on an old classic. The blue plaid gives it a comfortable and relaxed look that can either be dressed up or dressed down or dressed in between like I did here. I loved this top so much I decided to order the top in black and nude too. If your loving this trend as much as I do stay tuned to the blog as there will be plenty of more OTS tops to come!!

Block Heel Sandals

Like I even need to explain why block heels are a must have this summer! I love a stiletto heel like the next girl but this summers biggest trend is the block heel. Block heels are the perfect way to stay on trend while staying true to comfort. Girls who don't like to suffer in the name of fashion are eating this trend up and you should too because it looks good and gives you some height which is always a good thing!! Lets be comfortable this summer and opt for some block heels!!

Aviator Sunglasses

One of my favorite trends of all time are aviator sunglasses and when they are oversized and pink they are just perfection. I'm currently wearing the Quay x Desi Perkins collaboration and at first I didn't think I needed another pink aviator because I currently own a few but I saw these sunnies on Desi and she made them look so good I couldn't help purchasing some for myself. It was so hard to find these to say the least and I kept searching until I found a shop in Australia that had them in stock. Let me say they were worth the search and wait because they look extremely high end and they are heavier than I expected them to be. They are very sturdy and made of exceptional material. It's the best $50.00 I've spent in a long time!!! I fell hard for High Key Gold that I had to purchase them in black too!! I'm sure you've all heard that they are sold out everywhere but don't fret because Quay Australia will be relaunching them in September 2016 and they will be adding a new color to the mix. I can't wait until they reveal the new color!!

Fun Fact: I used to go to high school with Desi and it's been so inspirational to see her grow as a makeup artist and her success is well deserved!!
